Chef’s Connect
Chef’s Connect is a platform created to encourage culinary creativity and to professionally & socially engage chefs in a 1 day theme based educative & networking program. Chef’s Connect is held annually in Mumbai around the International Chef’s Day, which is celebrated on October 20th, worldwide.
Every chefs association around the world tries to organize an unforgettable event, that will elevate the image of this profession, popularize professional culinary art among people and raise public awareness of importance of healthy and good food and issues of its wasting. Keeping with the theme and concept in mind Chef’s Connect comes up with innovative themes to celebrate this day every year.
The Great Indian Culinary Challenge (GICC)
GICC which is held alongside Food Hospitality World, organised by The Indian Express Group, is India’s largest culinary challenge with over 250 five star hotel & restaurant chefs showcasing their finesse & culinary skills. GICC is has completed 9 editions.
WICA has been associated with GICC for the last 6 years and is actively involved in planning and successful execution of the competition.
Incredible Chef’s Challenge
ICC is designed on an international framework and is judged by a panel of internationally acclaimed chefs. It’s a strong networking platform for the Chef Community to share experiences and take innovative ideas toward logical business solutions.
RECA Cuisine Challenge (RCC)
RCC which is held alongside Restaurant & Catering Show, organised by Hospitality First, is hot Cooking’s most prestigious competition; where leading chefs from the finest of restaurants and catering institutions challenge each other to a contest of imagination, artistry and skill.
WICA has been associated with RCC right from the very first edition and is involved actively in planning of the competition categories and has its members on the jury.
India Bakery & Pastry Challenge (IBPC)
IBPC which is held alongside Bakery Business, organised by Hospitality First, is a professional bakery and pastry excellence competition organised at a national level involving senior and apprentice chefs from the finest of hotels and Bakery/Pastry chains. IBPC is now in its 8th edition.
WICA has been associated with IBPC right from the very first edition. The winners of IBPC competitions have represented India at Asian Pastry Cup in 2012 & 2014.
World Junior Chef Competition: Members of WICA have participated in competitions at international level. Its members have represented India in the World Junior Chef Competition in Santiago, Chile.
Other Events
WICA has been actively involved in various events like celebration of 55 years of Indian Independence by making a 55 meter long cake
From 2007 onwards WICA has been associated with Ashray, an NGO based in Bandra working for the cause of children. WICA has been trying to contribute towards the betterment of society by conducting events to help the underprivileged through Ashray.
